10-Day Traditional Shamanic Retreat in Colombia with Taita Juan

Traditional wisdom meets modern, trauma-informed support

📅 7–16 February 2026 (plus the magical Forgiveness Festival on the 17th — highly recommended 💖).
Taita Juan

Shamanic Retreat in Colombia

We are deeply grateful for our ongoing collaboration with the Shanayoy Retreat Center in Colombia and Curandero Taita Juan Bautista of the Kamëntšá lineage. What began in 2024, when we invited Taita Juan to Portugal, has now become a tradition: he has guided retreats with us in both 2024 and 2025, bringing his joyful spirit, music, and wisdom into our ceremonies.

Together with Shanayoy, we are building a living bridge between ancestral knowledge—passed down for generations from curandero to curandero—and the modern, trauma-informed approaches of psychedelic-assisted therapy.

In 2026, we take the next step. For the second time, we will journey with a small group to Colombia itself, offering those who feel called the chance to experience authentic Amazonian ceremonies in a safe and held environment, guided by people of deep integrity. To ensure continuity, our own facilitators will accompany the group, providing translation as well as the same level of preparation and integration support that our guests have always enjoyed at Vine of the Soul Retreats.

This retreat is for those ready to travel to their core, to heal, to expand consciousness, and to encounter the magic of an authentic Colombian ayahuasca (yagé) tradition.

Education

At Shanayoy, learning is as central as healing. The retreat is an immersion into ancestral perspectives on life — seeing the mind, body, spirit, and environment as one interconnected whole.

Through ceremony and daily practice, participants explore indigenous approaches to healing, meditation and yoga, healing songs, and the importance of intention, community, and connection with nature.

This educational component bridges traditional wisdom with modern challenges. In today’s disconnected world, many suffer from depression, anxiety, and imbalance. Ancestral medicines like yagé (ayahuasca) help us remember our sacredness, restore harmony, and take clear, actionable steps toward health and beauty.

This transformation is not only personal — it opens the possibility of creating healthier living systems for future generations.
